Asti is the name of a province, a town and a wine to be found in Piedmont, north-western

Italy. Since 2000, it has been possible to produce Barbera d’Asti Superiore, for which

the wine must have an alcoholic strength of at least 12.5% by volume, and be aged for at

least 14 months, 6 months of which stored in oak or chestnut barrels. Many Superiore

producers refine it in small oak barriques to obtain a rounder taste.

2010 Brunello Di’ Montalcino

The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is considered one of the outstanding production years in this

exceptional region. It is a deep intense ruby red garnet, with fruit and delicate influences of

plum, cherry, blueberry, and some balsamic undertones. Brunello di Montalcino has great

structure, flavor persistent, elegant and harmonic. It is the crown jewel of wines.

The Brunello produced from the Montalcino vineyards, has a density average of 3500 plants,

and a south -southeast exposure grown in in clay soil with vines averaging 16 years old. The

wine is placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation, then transferred into French Oak barrels

for four years. The average yearly production of bottles produced of Brunello di Montalcino is

approximately about 26,000 bottles.
